Poem of the Month - February 2001 |
|
THE DREAM
Worked my ass off for 27 years
Tile day after day
Raised kids
Fed and clothed
God is good
Older now
Can't get around like I use too
Not working so much with the tools
Got my license
Now it's about business
I am amazed at how competitive the field is
They are doing good work cheap
I don't know how to come out after taxes and insurance
These other guys can't be doing the right thing
or they don't need any money
I have a friend
Told me if I ever needed anything
Give him a call
It started the process
It's not about quality and service
It's about legislation
My friend submitted a bill
Tile will be mandatory in all construction
My friend is real good
His future is guaranteed
It passed
The next step was to tighten the test regulations
It should be tough, when government assisted
My guys don't have to worry anymore
about doing it right
Anybody who tries to stop us, or interfere
will go to jail
This is the way it should be
I deserve my dream
I am a winner
Nice stuff
Freedom
So what if it costs you yours
All you need to do is pass the test
The rest is easy
The government does all the work
And wipes out all in the way
I don't think you should do tile though,
maybe insurance.
